I am Debbie Warren Green and I have been dancing flamenco for about 15 years and teaching it for over 7 years.  Before dancing flamenco I trained for many years in Margaret Morris Movement www.margaretmorrismovement.co.uk and I am still a registered teacher of this highly unusual and beautifully stylised dance technique. I have also been studying the beautiful Chinese forms of Taiji and Qigong for 5 years and am a qualified teacher of both.  See my website www.taichi-cringleford.moonfruit.com   I also hold a degree in modern languages and a PGCE to teach secondary school. I am fully CRB checked.

The MMM technique proved to be a good basis for flamenco, along with my musical background.  I studied music at "A" level and at university.  I play several musical instruments including piano to Grade VIII standard.

I studied flamenco locally with Julie Ward whose footwork is excellent and is sorely missed on the flamenco scene.  I have also studied with the superb and sweet Liz Lee, with Dixey Ruscelli, and with Felipe de Algeciras.  I have also studied extensively in London and Spain with a variety of Spanish flamenco Artistes such as Rafaela Carrasco (who has appeared in Joaquin Cortés' show "Pura Pasión" and now has her own flamenco dance company, which featured at 2008's Flamenco Festival at Sadlers Wells Theatre), Belen Fernandez (who dances for Paco Peña in his shows), Belen Maya (who appeared in a superb show with singer Mayte Martin at the Barbican in May 2003), Concha Calero of Cordoba, Paco Perez, Manolo Liñan, Juan Polvillo of Seville, Javier Latorre, Rocio Molina and Angel Muñoz (who also dances for Paco Peña) to name but a few!!

The first highpoint of my career was as one of 4 dancers in the last Espiritú Flamenco show at the Maddermarket Theatre, Norwich (see the photos!).

Since then I have produced (as Flamenco Happens) and appeared in my own shows at the Norwich Playhouse on April 11th, 2003 (Inspiraciones) and June 18th, 2004 (Sol y Sombra). The first show featured 6 local dancers, 2 local guitarists, a local violinist and a local singer, plus a special guest appearance by Tomas Arroquero who was splendid and very exciting! This show was sold out, and there were people queueing for return tickets minutes before the show began! The front of house manager could hear the cheering through 2 sets of double doors and said she had never heard a reaction from an audience like it! I had numerous messages and cards of congratulations since, and people are still talking about it!  The second show featured guitarist Steve Homes, formerly of Norwich, with his magical own compositions. Guest artists were dancer La Maya and her brother, Marco de Barcelona who sang and played cajon.  Two of my students also appeared, Sayaka from Japan, and Mercedes from Mexico.

I have also choreographed and appeared in a production of the opera "Carmen" at the Theatre Royal, Norwich in front of audiences of 1,000 for 3 nights running!
